After my stay at El Portal De Champey, I must say that the location of the hotel is truly unbeatable. Situated a stone's throw away from Semuc Champey, it offers easy access to the park, cave, and waterfall. The view of the river, mountains, and bridge is breathtaking. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to assist guests.The facilities were basic but met our needs for a short stay. The rooms, though simple, provided a cozy atmosphere. The restaurant overlooking the river was a nice touch, and the German receptionist added a pleasant touch to the experience. However, I found the lack of WiFi and weak cell phone signal to be a refreshing break from technology.In terms of amenities, El Portal De Champey offers a relaxed environment with an outdoor swimming pool, bar/lounge area, and picnic tables. While the accommodations are modest, the value lies in the proximity to nature and the welcoming staff, making it a cost-effective choice for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of Semuc Champey.
